The Stix Icehouse Trail
The McKinney Parks Foundation is partnering with The Stix Icehouse to work on trail which is near the Wilson Creek Trail from Towne Lake Park. We are also uncovering the Interurban Railway that ran from Dallas to Sherman from around 1910 to 1940.
McKinney Parks Foundation is a 501c3 dedicated to enhancing outdoor community spaces available to the public, educating and guiding the publics knowledge of the outdoors, and bringing people and nature together.
Where: The Stix Icehouse, 301 Eldorado Parkway, McKinney, TX 75069 United States
When: Saturday, January 14th from 8-11 AM
Parking is available on site.
What to bring: bring a signed waiver, click here to fill out and print. Gloves, closed-toe shoes, long sleeves, water bottle.
What we will be doing: Cutting and scraping ground to break in trail. This includes moving brush, branches, overgrowth and moving earth. Potentially waymarking the path.
Please arrive about 10 minutes early for a safety orientation, waiver sign in, and team assignments.
Volunteers can earn service hours for their school group, troop, or club. See a member of the McKinney Parks Foundation to have your volunteer forms signed at the event.
